On Friday September 27^th, 2019 at approximately 9:12 p.m., the Rialto Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls reporting an unknown injury collision in the area of the 900 block of S. Riverside Ave. in the City of Rialto. Officers from the Rialto Police Department and paramedics from the Rialto Fire Department responded to the scene and found a severely injured female lying in the roadway. The female was immediately transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. The injured female was later identified by family members as Kim Nguyen.
 
The Rialto Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team arrived on scene to conduct the investigation. Evidence located at the scene is believed to belong to a 1999-2000 Toyota Solara. Through witness statements, it was found that the 75-year-old Nguyen was jaywalking from her apartment complex westbound across Riverside Ave. when she was struck by the Toyota traveling in the southbound lane of Riverside Ave. from Randall Ave. After Nguyen was struck, the Toyota fled the scene without stopping.
