Funeral Service to be held for Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal

Funeral services for Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 2 the Cypress Fairbanks ISD Berry Center, 8877 Barker Cypress Road.

Deputy Dhaliwal, 42, was killed in the line of duty while conducting a traffic stop on Friday, Sept. 27 in the 14800 block of Willancy Court in the Copperbrook subdivision in northwest Harris County. He was a 10-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. He is survived by his wife and three children.

The funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Sikh religious ceremony, followed by a law enforcement ceremony beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The Berry Center has capacity for about 7,200 visitors, and doors will open at 9:30 a.m. In the event that attendance exceeds capacity, the 11,000-seat Cy-Fair FCU Stadium will be used as an overflow location with the services broadcast on the stadium’s large screen.
