Power Shutoff Update
As of 9:11 am, 4,459 customers in Petaluma remain without power. There are also several traffic signals without power. Many of the intersections have back up battery power, but typically last only a few hours before the signals go out completely. Please treat these intersections as four-way stops. We are working to place stop signs at uncontrolled, signalized intersections.
Per PG&E, there are no further planned, phased outages for Sonoma County. If there is a significant weather event (fire, wind), it could cause infrastructure failure that would likely result in additional power outages. The significant weather event is expected to start at 8pm tonight and go through 5 am tomorrow. Winds are expected to range from 45-50 mph with gusts up to 65 mph on the mountain peaks, with 35 mph gusts in the valleys.
Community Charging Centers (locations where you can charge electronic devices) are open in Petaluma today at two locations:
The Petaluma Community Center, 320 N. McDowell – open until 8pm tonight, tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Community members are welcome to bring their hand held and small, portable devices where power outlets are available. Please no pets.
Petaluma Fairgrounds, 175 Fairgrounds Drive, open today until 5 p.m., tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
