Power Shutoff Update
Petaluma, California – Power remains out for 4,297 customers within the city limits of Petaluma. The power outage reported on Chileno Valley Road, not part of the planned outage, has been restored. There are eight signalized intersections in the city limits without power and stop signs have been deployed on barricades with sandbags at each intersection. Proceed with caution when approaching these intersections and remember to treat them as a four-way stop.
There is NO CHANGE to the weather forecast. The wind event is expected to begin after sunset tonight. Please avoid live electric lines and downed trees.
For the areas in Petaluma that have lost power and might be operating a generator, please ensure that generators are properly installed and operated outdoors. Operating a gas generator inside could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning and/or a fire.
Community Charging Centers (locations where you can charge electronic devices) are open in Petaluma today at two locations:
The Petaluma Community Center, 320 N. McDowell – open until 8pm tonight, tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Petaluma Fairgrounds, 175 Fairgrounds Drive, open today until 5 p.m., tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Petaluma’s Senior Center is closed today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday).
The Santa Rosa Junior College has announced that all campuses will be closed tomorrow, Thursday.
