Advisory

LAKESHORE FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM FRIDAY TO 11 PM EDT SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a
Lakeshore Flood Advisory...which is in effect from 4 PM Friday to
11 PM EDT Sunday.

* WINDS...Winds will shift to the west Friday afternoon and
increase into the 20 to 30 mph range. Winds will increase in
strength to around 30-35 mph Saturday evening.

* WAVES...Waves will build to 3 to 5 feet Friday morning, 5 to 7
feet Friday evening and to 8 to 12 feet Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Given a combination of high Great Lakes water levels,
a storm induced water level rise from the long duration strong
winds and large waves we are expecting beach and dune erosion
this weekend. The worst of conditions will occur Saturday
afternoon and evening. Flooding of low lying areas near the
lakeshore is possible as well, including back in river mouths
adjacent to the lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lakeshore Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate flooding of low areas along the lakeshore.
