Public Works
 
Projects—
  • Pearl Street Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Improvements – Utility Dynamics installed electrical conduit to light pole foundations at the Riverside Drive intersection and between Park Street and Court Street. Sumit Construction removed existing sidewalks on the south side of Pearl Street between Park Street and the Fox River and will pour new sidewalk next week. 
  • 2019 Road Resurfacing Program – Paving in Glacier Ridge Subdivision has been completed.  There are 6-10 driveway repairs that will be performed by the contractor in the next 7-10 days.  Once the driveway repairs are finished, the project will be 100% complete.
  • Curran Road Highway Safety Improvement Program Project – The contractor has completed all of the preliminary work on Curran Road including silt fencing and some earthwork.  Major construction is scheduled to start Monday, October 14th and will include grinding, road patching and multiple layers of asphalt paving.  Curran Road will be one lane for most of the day from 7:00AM to 7:00PM during the week of October 14th.  Residents should expect long delays.  Crews will be working between Dartmoor Drive (south limits) and Route 120 (north limits).  
 
Street Division—
  • The Fall 2019 Brush Pickup Program concluded on Wednesday, October 8th. Crews completed the citywide program in six and a half days. 
 
Water Division—
  • The 2019 Public Water Supply Inspection Report was completed by the IPEA and received by Public Works after the inspection occurred on August 22nd. The IEPA concluded that “the water supply is being properly operated and maintained and is satisfactorily protected against the entrance of contamination. In addition, McHenry is commended on its exemplary facility maintenance and updating.”

Jessup Manufacturing
Engineering and architectural review for the Jessup Manufacturing facility located at 2815 W Route 120 was completed this week. Construction on the addition of the building and site work will begin next week.

  • Arrested 11 individuals on State criminal charges
