Narrative:
Three Camarillo residents were arrested during a probation search for numerous drug and weapons related charges.
 
On 10/12/19, at about 10:45 AM, detectives assigned to the Camarillo Police Special Enforcement Detail conducted a probation search at a residence in the 1600 block of Regent Street in Camarillo. Detectives were aware two subjects currently living at the residence were on probation with search terms. The probationers were identified as Concepcion Valenzuela and Sylvia Velasquez.
 
After detectives arrived at the residence, they located Concepcion and Sylvia hiding in different rooms throughout the house. Another person, identified as David Valenzuela, was also located inside the residence.  During a probation search of Sylvia and Concepcion’s bedroom, detective’s located one .22 caliber revolver, one loaded .9 millimeter semi-automatic handgun and ammunition. In addition to the firearms, detectives located over three ounces of methamphetamine, three ounces of heroin and about $3300 in U.S. currency next to the firearms. There was also paraphernalia located which indicated the illegal drugs were possessed for the purpose of sales. The firearms, illegal drugs and cash were seized as evidence.
 
Concepcion has a prior felony conviction and is prohibited from possessing or being in control or custody of firearms and ammunition. Sylvia also has specific probation terms prohibiting her from being in possession of firearms. Concepcion and Sylvia were arrested for numerous
 
charges, including PC 29800 (a) (1) / Felon in possession of firearms, PC 30305 (a) (1) / Felon in possession of ammunition, PC 29815 (a) / Probationer in possession of a firearm, HS 11378 / Possession of controlled substance for sales, HS 11351 / Possession of a controlled substance for sales, and HS 11370.1 / Possession of controlled substance with a firearm. Sylvia also had five local Ventura County misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. David Valenzuela was arrested for 11550(a) HS. All three subjects were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention facility with pending court dates.  
 
The Camarillo Police Department Special Enforcement Detail (SED) is a plain clothes unit that conducts a variety of investigations of crimes and criminal activity occurring within the City of Camarillo. The goal of SED is to reduce property crime and violent crime through investigations and directed enforcement.
