Palmdale Fatal Traffic Collision

On October 12, 2019 (Saturday) at approximately 7:50 pm, personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the 2200 block of East Palmdale Boulevard, which is within the incorporated area of the City of Palmdale. The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate at approximately 7:50 pm a 2003 Nissan 350Z driven by a 31 year old male was traveling eastbound on Palmdale Boulevard and did not see the 71 year old pedestrian in his motorized wheelchair crossing Palmdale Boulevard from the north to the south side. According to the scene evidence, the pedestrian was crossing mid-block and was not in the crosswalk. The 71 year old male pedestrian suffered a fatal head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan 350Z remained at the scene and was cooperative with deputy personnel. No indication of alcohol or drugs involved in this incident. Anyone with information regarding the traffic collision is encouraged to call Palmdale Station’s Traffic Department at 661-272-2400. The investigation is ongoing.

East and west bound lanes of Palmdale Boulevard between 22nd Street East, and 25th Street East, were closed to routine traffic until 2:00 am while this incident was being investigated.
