On 10/09/2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s West County Narcotic Street Team, assisted by patrol deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff Office Fillmore Station, concluded a two month investigation into two Santa Paula residents who were suspected of selling heroin and methamphetamine. The investigation concluded with the arrest of 43 year old Alejandro Garcia and 43 year old Christina Davalos. During the months of August and September 2019, Detectives received information from confidential sources as well as patrol deputies that Alejandro Garcia and Christina Davalos were involved the sales of methamphetamine and heroin to residents of Ventura County. The information included the two were living in an encampment in the riverbed near the City of Santa Paula. During the two month investigation detectives were able to gather enough information to obtain search warrants for Garcia, his vehicle, and encampment. On 10/09/2019, detectives established surveillance on Garcia in the city of Santa Paula. At approximately 4:00 pm, Detectives and Deputies contacted Garcia and Christina Avalos in their homeless encampment near Ferris Road on the east end of the Santa Paula City limits. A search of their encampment was conducted pursuant to the signed search warrant. During the search detectives located and seized just under 3 ounces of heroin, a small amount of methamphetamine as well as paraphernalia indicative of drug sales. Also seized was a large amount of US Currency deemed to be proceeds of narcotic sales. Garcia and Davalos were arrested and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for possessing heroin and methamphetamine for sale. Their bail was set at $300,000. Garcia is scheduled to appear in court on 10/16/2019 at 9:00 AM in Courtroom 11. Davalos is scheduled to appear in court on 11/01/2019 at 1:30 PM in Courtroom 12. The West County Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Port Hueneme Police Department. |
