A Wind Advisory is in effect for our area until 6 pm Thursday. Expect winds 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.
The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 6 PM EDT Thursday.

* WHAT...Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph this evening along the coast, becoming west and expanding across the entire area tonight into Thursday.

* WHERE...Entire Tri-State Area.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 6 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

Instructions:

Avoid downed power lines, even in a power outage, as they may be live. Report any downed lines to the Police Department and any outages to PSE&G (1-800-436-7734). Report power outages to the Police Department ONLY if you observe smoke or fire, OR require power for life-support equipment. To avoid property damage, please secure any loose items such as Halloween decorations and trash cans.
