On October 15, 2019, at about 6:30 A.M., Delano and Wasco substation deputies responded to a call of a stolen vehicle taken from a business in the 27900 block of McCombs Road. A short time later, deputies located the vehicle being driven by a single suspect. The suspect failed to yield to deputies and led them on a pursuit the began in the city of Wasco at high speeds. Deputies discontinued the pursuit.
Deputies continued to search for the vehicle and located it parked in an orchard near Jackson Avenue and Kyte Avenue. 31-year-old Miguel Gil Torres was found inside the stolen vehicle and was arrested without incident. Gil Torres was booked into jail for vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and evading a peace officer. (2019-00167111)
