The Hardeeville police department is thanking the public for tips on helping them identify a subject who may be responsible for taking items from the Enmarket convenience store on Independence Boulevard over the weekend. Police sent out a picture and the markings on the side of the van the man was driving. This lead to several tips from the public. The subject is accused of taking thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from the store after paying for some items first. He asked the clerk at the store to help him load items in his van and said he would pay after they finished loading. He left the store without paying for the additional items. The case is still under investigation and more information could be released in the near future.
