Wilmington Police make arrest in August 6 shooting:
A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old man in connection with an August 6 shooting incident.
On August 6 at approximately 9:28 p.m., police responded to the unit block of Lower Oak Street in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Police located a 16-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
The case was assigned to Detective Douglas Rivell of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Rivell identified 18-year-old Nazir Henry as a suspect. Henry, who was already incarcerated on unrelated charges, has been charged with the following offenses in connection with this incident:
- Assault (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (within 10 years of a felony conviction)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and given $65,000 secured bail.
