UPDATE: PSPS/Comcast Outage/Weather

PSPS Update:  We are continuing to liaise with PG&E several times a day regarding the restoration of power to residents affected by the most recent PSPS. We know that there are still several residents without power and we have been conveying that to the utility. There is no definite time being given in regards to full power restoration. We will continue to update you as information becomes available.

Comcast Outage:  In addition to power, we are aware that a number of residents have been without Comcast service for several days as well. We have been informed that it is related to the PSPS. We understand that many residents rely on that service for their businesses, and day to day communications. We have been advocating with the company to work on restoration of that service as well.

Wind Event:  The latest wind event began earlier today and is expected to continue until approximately midnight. Danville is not expected to receive the same level of wind effect as it did on Sunday. However, residents are encouraged to watch for debris while out during the wind event.

Fire Danger:  Because of the dry conditions and the high winds, fire danger remains high. Residents are asked to be extra careful with any sort of outdoor cooking or grilling, or use of lawnmowers or other devices which could conceivably heat up or strike a spark.

Air Quality:  With the wind event sweeping through, air quality is expected to improve briefly on Wednesday, however the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has extended the Spare the Air Day to Wednesday, Oct 30, 2019. After the air mass passes through from the current system, smoke from the Kincade Fire will continue to come into the valley, affecting air quality. We encourage everyone to limit strenuous outdoor exercise when possible, and reduce use of gas-powered devices when possible.

Parks/Trail Closures:  Because of the fire danger and air quality, the East Bay Regional Park District has extended the closure of all EBRPD parks and trails through Thursday a.m.  This includes the Iron Horse Trail, Las Trampas Ridge, and other area trails.
