Press Release: Suspect Arrested for Indecent Exposure Incidents
DATE: October 25, 2019
LOCATION: 803 Block of Los Coches Street, Milpitas
CASE #: 19-297-088
Between October 23, 2019 and October 25, 2019, the Milpitas Police Department investigated three separate indecent exposure incidents. The first incident involved an eleven-year-old female victim and the other two incidents involved adult female victims. All three incidents occurred in the same general vicinity and all three victims provided a similar suspect and vehicle description.
Since the first incident was reported, our uniformed Patrol Officers, Crime Reduction Team, and Detectives have been attempting to locate and identify the suspect. A sketch artist was brought in to provide a rendering of the suspect, which was disseminated to all law enforcement agencies in the bay area and the media in an effort to identify the suspect.
During the early evening hours of October 29, 2019, Detectives and the Crime Reduction Team were conducting surveillance in the area of these incidents and they observed a male subject matching the suspect description sitting in a parked vehicle on Los Coches Street. The male subject was contacted and subsequently arrested after Detectives positively identified him as the indecent exposure suspect associated with these incidents. Detectives interviewed the suspect at the Milpitas Police Department and later booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for indecent exposure, annoying or molesting a child, and lewd conduct.
Incidents such as these are traumatic for the victims and our community. We want to put everyone at ease by informing them the suspect responsible for these incidents has been arrested. However, the identity of the suspect is not being released as the investigation is still ongoing. Upon completing the investigation, we will provide an updated press release with the suspect’s name and photograph.
If you have any information regarding these incidents, then you are encouraged to contact the Milpitas Police Department at (408) 586-2400. Additionally, the information can be given anonymously by calling the Crime Tip Hotline at (408) 586-2500 or via the Milpitas Police Department Website at: http://www.ci.milpitas.ca.gov/crimetip.
