The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northern Frederick County in northwestern Virginia... Southern Morgan County in the Panhandle of West Virginia... Berkeley County in the Panhandle of West Virginia... Southeastern Hampshire County in eastern West Virginia...

* Until 630 PM EDT.

* At 544 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles southeast of Romney, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include... Martinsburg, Greenwood, Inwood, Capon Bridge, Tomahawk, Yellow Spring, High View, Johnsontown, Oakland, Bloomery, Delray, Cross Junction, Arden, Jones Springs, Kirby, Unger, Gore, Augusta, Glengary and Omps.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MORGAN, WV ... BERKELEY, WV ... FREDERICK, VA ... HAMPSHIRE, WV

Instructions:

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT for northwestern Virginia...and eastern and the Panhandle of West Virginia. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
