Deputies investigated a fatal collision on 5th Street involving a vehicle and a semi-truck

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: 27000 Block of 5th St., Highland
VICTIM: Confidential adult male – name withheld pending family notification
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10:23 p.m. deputies from the Highland Police Department were dispatched to the 27000 block of 5th Street to a report of a vehicle versus a semi-truck collision. Deputies and Cal Fire personnel arrived on scene and had to extract the driver from the vehicle. Medical personnel conducted life saving measures on scene and the driver was transported to Loma Linda Medical Center by AMR. He was pronounced deceased soon after arrival to the hospital. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending further investigation and next of kin notification.
The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene.
