Case # SO1956835
On 11/05/2019 at 1:13am, personnel from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Edgerton Fire Dept., and Mercy Health System MD-1 were dispatched to a farm field in the 7500 block of N Fox Rd for the report of a male that had been run over by a large piece of farm equipment.
Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, a 24 year old male from Belvidere, IL, unconscious and not breathing. Life saving measures were attempted by deputies and medical personnel, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene by MD-1.
Initial investigation shows that the tractor was being driven by an 18 year old male from Garden Prairie, IL, when the victim attempted to exit the moving tractor. As the victim exited the tractor, it is believed he slipped on a mud covered ladder and fell to the ground and was then struck by the rear tire of the tractor. The farm workers on scene immediately called for emergency services and attempted CPR until the arrival of emergency personnel.
At this time the investigation is on-going, but no foul play is suspected.
The identity of the victim will be released at a later time, pending notification of the family.
