UPDATE: On November 6, 2019, Keith Michael Lusk, of Smith Rd. in Columbus, NC was arrested and charged with larceny in connection with the larceny of a donation jar reported to FCPD on November 4, 2019 at Smith’s Drugs, located at 139 East Main St. in Forest City, NC. Lusk was issued a $1,000 unsecured bond.
Forest City Police Department would like to thank all of those who called, messaged and assisted in the case.  Your assistance allowed us to quickly resolve the case and return the stolen item. 

Forest City Police Department is requesting the assistance identifying a person of interest believed to be involved in a larceny incident at Smith Drugs this afternoon.  The subject is believe to have taken a donation jar containing donations Smith Drugs has been receiving to aid an out of work Town of Forest City employee.  Those with information concerning the identity of the subject are asked to call the administrative number at Forest City Police Department at (828) 245-5555 or the Rutherford County Central Communications Center at (828) 286-2911.
