Tuesday night, the Sheriff's Office received a report from a complainant that he/she was concerned there may be a shooting at the Heritage Days Celebration, St. Helena Island, on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Investigators interviewed concerned parties and were unable to substantiate any threat to public safety.
Regardless, and for the safety and piece of mind of those attending the Heritage Days Celebration, the Sheriff's Office will have an increased presence throughout the event. Please remember, "If You See Something, Say Something" and immediately report suspicious activity to Sheriff's Office Dispatch 9-1-1.
Saturday's Heritage Days Parade Route/Road Closures
During the Penn Center's Heritage Days Parade, roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Sea Island Parkway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between 9:00 and 1030 am. In addition, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from Sea Island Parkway to Club Bridge Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Increased Sheriff's Office Presence Throughout Event
