After receiving multiple reports from Compton College employees regarding the smell of gas on campus, the Compton College Police Department reached out to local government and emergency agencies. The Compton Fire Department reported a broken gas line north of Greenleaf Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. this morning.
The smell of gas may linger for some time in the area. There is no danger to the residents surrounding the College or employees on campus, per the Compton Fire Department.
If an employee or student feels ill, they should report to the Boardroom in the Administration Building where paramedics will be available to assess their status.
