POSSIBLE REFUSE COLLECTION DELAYS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Important Information Regarding Waste collection
Updated as of 11/11/19 at 3:00 pm
Southeast Michigan has experienced our first round of winter today with over 3 inches of snow on average throughout the service area. Portions of the area have experienced higher accumulations.
All of Republic’s collection trucks left early this morning to service their regular routes. We have been working through the winter weather conditions throughout the day as road conditions have continued to diminish and travel time has increased throughout the area.
We ask at this time to be patient as routes are currently running behind due to the weather.
As we have monitored our collection operations and the progress that they have made throughout the day, we are projecting that we will not complete all of our routes today. This shortfall in collection is based on increased travel time on local roads and freeways.
Our crews will continue to work throughout the afternoon to service as much of their routes as possible. In the event that a route is not completed this afternoon, Republic’s collection trucks will return to the route in the morning to complete today routes and then head off to service their next collection day’s customers.
Once Republic receives information regarding any area not serviced, we will communicate that to you.
Republic is reminding residents to place carts/items intended for collection in a location that will not interfere with local municipal snow plowing operations. Residents should place carts/items intended for collection in a location that does not interfere with snow plow operations but also can be easily and safely accessed by Republic’s drivers. Please make sure that all items intended for collection can be easily identified and accessed from the curb/street.
For our commercial and roll off customers, Republic reminds everyone to please make sure that front load container and roll off containers are clear of snow piles and can be safely / easily accessed. Please remind snow removal crews to not stockpile snow around the containers. This may cause a delay in service until the container can be safely and easily accessed.
