CRIME ALERT - ROBBERY & CARJACKING
On November 12, 2019, at about 10:45 p.m., Davis Police responded to a reported robbery-carjacking. The two female victims reported they were just exiting their parked vehicle near the 1200 block of Alvarado Avenue when a male subject exited a white Honda Odyssey minivan and approached the driver side of their vehicle. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded they leave behind their keys and cell phones. The suspect then entered the victim’s vehicle, a silver 2007 Audi 4 door sedan, license 5VBZ037, and left the area heading west-bound on Alvarado Avenue near Sycamore, followed by the minivan which was occupied by an additional three suspects. Detectives discovered that a white Honda Odyssey minivan, license 6EQL190, had been reported stolen out of Woodland Police Department not long before the Davis crime. Detectives continue to investigate the case. The suspects were described as follows:

The Davis Police Department believes all four of the suspects in this case are armed and dangerous. We are asking community members with information regarding this incident to contact the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
We strongly recommend that community members remain vigilant. There have been 8 armed robberies in Davis in the last 7 weeks. Several have now involved attempted or actual carjackings. In some of the incidents, the victims were walking alone and all but one occurred in the evening hours during darkness. In order to avoid becoming a victim, and reduce the potential for harm, we encourage the following:
1. Avoid walking alone late in the evening hours.
2. If you must walk alone, avoid dark unpopulated areas.
3. Avoid using or being distracted by your cellphone while in public.
4. Cooperate if you are confronted by an armed or potentially armed person; property can always be replaced.
5. Report suspicious persons and/or behavior.
6. Activate tracking software on phones and electronic devices.
