Date: November 17, 2019
CASE: SO1958894
On November 17, 2019 at 6:10 PM, Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were made aware of suspicious vehicle parked in the middle of the road on S. Smith Rd. by E CTH J, in Turtle Township. The reporting party said the vehicle was completely blacked out and the driver seemed intoxicated.
Once on scene, Deputies had contact with Paul L. Nardini (70 years old, from Janesville, WI). Nardini was slurring his words and displayed signs he was under the influence of alcohol. Nardini refused field sobriety testing. Deputies determined Nardini had struck a bridge support with his vehicle before stopping in the road.
Nardini has three prior convictions for Operating While Intoxicated, making this arrest a fourth offense felony. A blood sample was collected from Nardini. The results of that blood sample are not known at this time. Nardini was booked into the Rock County Jail where he will have an initial court appearance on November 18, 2019 at 3:00 PM.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
