PG&E PSPS WEDNESDAY, CHARGING STATION AVAILABLE AT FAIRFAX POLICE STATION

 11/19/2019
Residents.  We need to remember that the information from PG&E is fluid as to the times and locations of the PSPS.  As of early this morning they still plan to begin the PSPS beginning at 4:00pm Wednesday.    While their PSPS outage map (as of last night) showed all of Fairfax, they have continued to state about 1800 Fairfax meters will be effected.  The address look up on the PG&E web site is more accurate than their map, but remember that too may not be accurate as we learned from the last PSPS.

While the PSPS is scheduled to begin at 4pm Wednesday, it does take them several hours to shut off all locations.  So while power could go out as early as 4pm, it may not go out until hours later (as occurred last time).  The “all clear” is expected as early as 8am on Thursday morning.  At that time PG&E will begin inspecting lines in areas of the PSPS and begin turning on power.  Since they will be able to begin inspecting lines so early in the day, while not guaranteed, it is possible they could get all power turned back on by late Thursday afternoon as long as they do not run into any issues.

Again, this is all fluid and this is the latest I have from the various conference calls I have participated in.  Be sure you are signed up for PG&E alerts as well as Nixle for relevant information and updates coming from the Marin Office of Emergency Services.  In order to maintain a unified message, we will not generally be repeating messaging coming from PG&E and the Marin Office of Emergency Services.

We will once again have a charging station here at the Fairfax Police Lobby.  While this outage should be much shorter in duration, possible only about 24hrs, we will have a charging station available to you all 24x7.  If it becomes longer, we may move it to the Community Center (Youth Center) on Park road if that location has ower.

Also remember we are always here and open for any needs or assistance required.
