7th Precinct Reaches Its One-Year Anniversary 
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the grand opening of the Newark Police Division's 7th Precinct. On November 19, 2018, the precinct opened in the North Ward, sharing oversight with the 2nd Precinct. The result has been increased response time for police and an overall reduction in crime.
Led by Commander Captain P. Robles and Executive Officer Lieutenant L. Santiago, the staff has shown its support of the community most recently with its Halloween Trunk or Treat event. Captain Robles and Lt. Santiago also hosted free back-to-school haircuts at Newark Schools Stadium, near the precinct, gave away school supplies and backpacks at the Stephen Crane Housing Complex, where they also held Christmas gift giveaways, and hosted an ice cream-with-a-cop event during their first year of service.
