NEWS RELEASE: Vail High School Threat Against the Principal Determined to be Fake. Student Arrested.

NEWS RELEASE

Montebello, CA - On Tuesday, November 19th, the police department received a report of a threat against the principal at Vail High School in the city of Montebello.  The threat appeared originally to have been brought to the attention of the school by a concerned parent whose child attended Vail High School and came across the threat on Snapchat.

Detectives immediately responded and interviewed the student as to the origin of the social media post.  Ultimately the student admitted to creating the post and sharing it on social media so that he wouldn’t have to attend school today.  The student, a 16-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for making a criminal threat against the principal.
