Winter Weather Advisory until 12:00PM Thursday

...Slippery Roads Expected Thanksgiving Morning... .Widespread light snow is expected tonight, changing to a period of freezing rain Thursday morning. All precipitation will change to rain before ending Thursday afternoon.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations up to five hundreths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest and west central Kansas.

* WHEN...From midnight CST /11 PM MST/ tonight to noon CST /11 AM MST/ Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel Thursday morning. Ice accretion is expected on automobiles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow will be followed by several hours of light ice accumulation at many locations. While ice and snow amounts will be light, it takes very little ice to create dangerous travel and hazardous sidewalks. Bridges, overpasses and sidewalks will be most susceptible to ice accumulations. Slow down, and allow extra time to reach your destinations. Temperatures will climb above freezing during the late morning hours to around noon on Thursday, melting all ice and changing precipitation to rain.
