On Saturday, 12-7-19 at approximately 8:21 p.m., Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 3000 block of Highway 51 in the Town of Rock for a shots fired call. The reporting person reported that they had heard gunshots and observed a white Tahoe traveling on Highway 51 slow down, and an unknown person climb onto the running boards. The vehicle then drove north on Highway 51.
It was determined that the person who jumped onto the Tahoe was an unidentified white male who was a victim of a gunshot wound to his upper left leg. The unidentified victim was dropped off near the entrance to Mercy Hospital, Janesville. The victim never went in. The victim is described as a white male, possibly in his mid-thirties with a five o’clock shadow wearing a gray in color jacket.
Deputies found six spent shell casings in the area of the 3000 block of Highway 51. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Identification was called out to process the scene. Currently the Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Detective Bureau are actively investigating the incident.
