Synopsis: A 62 year old female was riding her motorized scooter/wheelchair northbound in the #1 lane of 100 Euclid Avenue when she was struck from behind by a vehicle travelling in the same direction. The vehicle, described only as a dark colored vehicle, fled the scene. Witnesses and paramedics attempted life saving efforts, but unfortunately the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A SIG Alert was issued as the roadway will be closed for several hours while the SDPD Traffic Division investigates the collision.
