Traffic stop leads to arrest of Kansas man. 
On December 8, 2019, at 2:29 p.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Black 2007 GMC Sierra after he observed it speeding on Interstate 69 near State Road 64. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith identified the driver as 25 year old Alan Gomez Lopez of Kansas City, Kansas. Upon running Mr. Lopez through the National Crime Information Center it was determined that he had an outstanding warrant for Kidnapping out of Johnson County Kansas. At that point Deputy Smith placed Mr. Lopez into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Lopez was charged with the outstanding warrant as well as a new charge of operating a vehicle having never been licensed.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
