On Saturday, December 14th, the City of Walnut Creek will be hosting the 9th annual running of the Walnut Creek Half Marathon. The race begins at 7:00 a.m. in Civic Park. Nearly 1,500 runners will compete along the 13.1 mile loop around N. Civic Drive, Oak Rd, Treat Blvd, Cowell Road, and Ygnacio Valley Road. The curbside lanes on these streets will be coned off and designated for runners.

Street closures and detours will begin around 6:30am. Normal traffic will resume around 9:00am.

For those who need to cross Ygnacio Valley Road to access the Shadelands Business Park, please enter through Via Monte. Alternatively, Mitchell Drive and Shadelands Drive will allow access in to the Shadelands Business Park from Oak Grove Road.

If you are traveling along the affected streets during the race, please be patient and drive safely.
