Felony Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Content – 6th Offense
The Middleton Police Department arrested 34-year-old Darnell L.
Mansfield for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Prohibited
Alcohol Concentration—Sixth Offense, a felony.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at approximately 12:53am, a Middleton Police Officer had contact with Mansfield after seeing him driving on University Avenue. The officer smelled an odor of intoxicants on Mansfield, saw an open alcohol container in Mansfield’s car, and Mansfield admitted to drinking.
Because Mansfield has five prior OWI convictions, his Prohibited Alcohol Content is .02% or higher. Mansfield refused to provide a breath sample for a Preliminary Breath Test. However, a Dane County Circuit Court Judge issued a Search Warrant for a sample of Mansfield’s blood. The blood sample will be sent to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab for testing.
Mansfield was booked into the Dane County Jail for Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Content—6th Offense and a Parole Violation. He was also cited for Open Intoxicants and Operating with a Revoked Driver’s License.
