Palmdale Deputies Arrest Two Subjects in Connection with Elementary School Burglary
On Thursday, 12-19-19, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a burglary alarm call at Summerwind Elementary School and detained two male juvenile subject’s (ages 15 and 17) attempting to exit the grounds of the school. Multiple window-smash burglaries occurred to various classroom bungalows at the location. The subjects were making multiple trips ferrying stolen property to the backyard of one of the subjects grandmother’s house, which faced and shared a common fence line with the school.
All of the stolen property was recovered from the backyard, which included approximately two dozen iPads, and various food items.
Incident to arrest, one of the subject’s became uncooperative and kicked out the patrol car window. Glass shards from the broken glass got into a deputies eye. The deputy was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and/or treatment.
Both subjects were transported to Sylmar Juvenile Hall, and face charges of burglary, vandalism, and resisting/battering an officer causing injury.
This is investigation is ongoing. There is no additional information at this time.
