...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH
TUESDAY MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Georgia and
southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, in
southeast Georgia, Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Jenkins, and
Screven. In southeast South Carolina, Allendale, Beaufort,
Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Dorchester,
Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper, and
Tidal Berkeley.
* from Sunday evening through Tuesday morning
* Low pressure will produce 4 to 7 inches of rainfall Sunday into
Tuesday, and locally greater amounts are possible. Heaviest
rain and the greatest potential for flash flooding will occur
Sunday night into Monday night.
* Flooding could occur quickly, especially in low-lying and poor
drainage areas. Be prepared for the possibility of widespread
street flooding and flooded properties. Along the South Carolina
coast, elevated tides could increase the potential for flash
flooding, especially around the time of the Monday morning high
Instructions:
Be prepared to protect life and property, especially in areas
prone to flooding. If flooding develops, move to higher ground
immediately. If driving, be prepared for flooded roadways and
possible road closures.
