Deputies responded to multiple reports of felony vandalism and later identified & arrested the suspect, James Davis

SUMMARY:
On December 24, 2019 at 3:55 a.m. deputies responded to an alarm at Hal’s Liquor, located in 12000 block of California St. A deputy arrived on scene within minutes of receiving the alarm and located James Davis nearby. Investigation confirmed Davis broke a large window at Hal’s Liquor. He was arrested for felony vandalism and booked at Central Detention Center with bail set at $25,000.
The next morning, deputies responded to a vandalism at Yucaipa Auto Collision. The employees found one of the parked vehicles was vandalized sometime during the night. Deputies reviewed video surveillance, which showed the crime happened around 3:50 a.m. and linked the crime to the earlier arrest of James Davis.
An additional vandalism to a residence occurred in the same area, during the same night Davis was arrested, and deputies believe he also committed this crime.
Deputies believe Davis committed additional acts of vandalism in the area and encourage anyone who’s home, business or vehicle was vandalized during the early morning hours of December 24, 2019, to contact the Yucaipa Police Department.
