* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches. Higher totals likely over mountain peaks. Lesser totals of 3 to 6 inches likely near Capulin and Dulce.

* WHERE...Northern Mountains, Chuska Mountains, Far Northwest Highlands, Southwest Mountains, and Johnson and Bartlett Mesas Including Raton Pass.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 4 PM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mountain roads and passes will become snow- packed and icy. Travel through Raton Pass along I-25 will be slow and brief road closures are possible.
