Narrative:
On 12/26/2019, Monique Jenkins, Tanisha Green, Shyvonne Mack and Jasmine Sanders entered the Nike Store at the Camarillo Outlets with multiple empty Nike bags.  The suspects proceeded to fill their empty bags with merchandise.  All four suspects then fled the store without paying and left the area in a black Nissan sedan with Washington license plates.  An alert Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail (SED) deputy located the suspect vehicle near Carmen Drive in the city of Camarillo.  Camarillo SED and Camarillo Patrol Services conducted an enforcement stop on the Nissan and apprehended the four suspects.

During the course of the investigation, deputies recovered over $3,000 in stolen Nike property.  Additionally, the four suspects became persons of interest in a similar organized retail theft at the Nike Outlet a week prior.  All four suspects were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on multiple felony charges.

Organized retail thefts like this one are prevalent in Ventura County and the state of California.  An organized retail theft occurs when suspects act in concert and coordinate their efforts to steal property from a business.  Generally, the type of organized retail theft encountered in Ventura County are suspects from other counties traveling here to commit this crime. The city of Camarillo and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are committed to curbing all property crime in Ventura County and prosecuting those responsible.
