Crime Alert Bulletin

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Notable Cases

On Monday, 12-23-19 at 2:25 a.m., Officer Greene arrested a 39-year old Daly City resident for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage after she was involved in a collision in the area of Templeton Street and Brunswick Street.

On Monday, 12-23-19 at 2:42 p.m., Detectives and Officers from our Crime Suppression Unit were in the area of Serramonte Boulevard and Gellert Boulevard when they observed an unoccupied stolen Audi station wagon. They conducted surveillance on the vehicle and contacted a subject who entered the driver’s side of the vehicle. The subject, a 31-year old Oakland resident, was subsequently arrested for being in possession of a semi-automatic Smith & Wesson MP Shield 9mm firearm that was stolen in Oregon, possession of various controlled substances, possession of stolen property, possession of three counterfeit $100 bills, and for several outstanding warrants. Shortly after that subject was taken into custody, another subject, a 27-year old Oregon resident, attempted to enter the front passenger seat of the same Audi. Officers immediately detained that subject and searched her purse, finding controlled substance paraphernalia and a credit card not belonging to her. The subject had just attempted to make a fraudulent purchase with the credit card at Target. She was placed under arrest for identity theft, receiving stolen property, fraudulent use of an access card, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, 12-25-19 at 6:47 p.m., Officer McCarthy arrested a 37-year old female Daly City resident for being in possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) for sales and transporting a controlled substance for the purpose of sales. This occurred following a traffic stop in the area of Wilson Street and San Jose Avenue.

On Wednesday, 12-25-19 at 9:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the 700 block of Hillside Boulevard on a report of a man who ran into a residence for safety. The occupants of the residence said a male told them to call the police because two people with a gun in a van were chasing him. The officers determined there was no merit to the subject’s claim. The officers placed the subject, a 38-year old Daly City resident, under arrest for being under the influence of a controlled substance and reporting a false crime. The subject was arrested for the same type of occurrence in May 2019.

On Thursday, 12-26-19 at 4:15 p.m., Officer Moody was dispatched to the intersection of Mission Street and Evergreen Street on a report of a male subject who was hit in the head with a glass bottle by an unknown male subject who fled the scene. The subject was sitting on a curb that is not intended for pedestrian use. Thinking that the subject may be distraught or suicidal, Officer Dolan asked the subject why he was on the overpass. The officer directed the subject to leave the roadway as it was not safe to be there. Officer Dolan said the subject then jolted towards him and simultaneously spat in his face. The subject’s saliva landed on the officer’s face and chest area. The subject then fled from the officer, which initiated a foot pursuit. The subject was detained near 92nd Street and Briggs Street. The 27-year old transient subject was booked for assaulting a peace officer during the course of his duty.

This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there.
