Marcella Grebus of Yucaipa was observed throwing a small dog in a trash can and was arrested for animal abuse

SUSPECT: Marcella Grebus, 54 years old, resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY:
On January 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. deputies responded to the Stater Brother’s Parking Lot after receiving a report from a citizen that Marcella Grebus had thrown a small dog into a trash can and was covering the dog in trash. A deputy was in the area and arrived within about two minutes of being dispatched to the call.
The deputy located the dog, still in the trash can, and retrieved it. Grebus was found nearby and detained without incident. The dog appeared uninjured and was released to Animal Control. Grebus was booked at Central Detention Center on a charge of misdemeanor animal abuse. She was later cite released.
