*UPDATE* Subject Arrested Related to School Shooting Threats at Calabasas High School

Malibu/Lost Hills Station detectives utilizing department resources, and crime analyzation tools have identified the subject suspected for the online threats received against Calabasas high school. 
 
After exhaustive investigative measures, detectives identified a 17 year old juvenile subject in Jackson, Tennessee believed to be responsible for the social media post.  The Madison County Sheriff’s Department followed up information provided by LASD, made contact with the subject at 8:30 PST and continued the investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a juvenile for making a threat to the school’s student body.
 
There were no weapons associated with the subject, who did not appear to have any intention to carry out the threat.

On January 8, 2020, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Malibu/Lost Hills Station received a tip via crime stoppers of a possible school shooting at Calabasas High School, located at 22855 Mulholland Highway Calabasas Ca. 91302.
 
Malibu/Lost Hills Detectives are vigorously investigating and conducting threat assessments provided by the concerned residents. The threat assessment consists of investigative methods to track down the origin of the posted online threats.
 
The investigation is in the early stages, and as of now the threat assessments have not indicated any related credible threat, however LASD treats these incidents seriously.  In addition to researching web and social media information, if necessary, investigators will conduct location searches in an attempt to gather as much information as possible to determine the validity of the potential threat.  
 
However, in our continued support of our schools and students, the Malibu/Lost Hills Deputies will be on campus as part of the precautionary measures related to the threat.
