Janesville Police Department reports enforcement results from holiday ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign
As part of state and national efforts to help keep roadways safe for all travelers, The Janesville Police Department officers made 17 OWI arrests during the holiday “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign between December 15, 2019 and New Year’s Day.
While the focus of the initiative was to deter impaired driving, officers also issued citations and made arrests during traffic stops for the following:
9 speeding violations
54 operating after revocation or suspension violations
83 traffic sign or traffic light violations
3 safety belt violations
8 drug arrests
5 felony arrests
11 warrant arrests
"Our hope for 2020 is that everyone drives safely and responsibly during every trip in order to keep our roadways, and our community, safe.” Deputy Chief Terry Sheridan said.
