Fatal Traffic Collision at Sutter Blvd and Jarvis Dr
On January 13th, at approximately 10:59 am, MHPD officers were dispatched to a collision involving two vehicles in the intersection of Sutter Blvd and Jarvis Dr.
When officers arrived on scene, both vehicles were located on the northeast shoulder of the intersection with major damage. Officers located a male subject trapped in one of the damaged vehicles. The male had significant injuries and was unresponsive to officers. MHPD officers along with members of the Morgan Hill Fire Department began immediate rescue efforts. EMS personnel were able to extricate the driver but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver is being withheld until notifications are made by the County Coroner.
The other driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Investigating officers observed no signs of driving while under the influence. It is unknown at this time if both driver’s were properly wearing their seatbelts. Prior to the collision, witnesses observed one of the vehicles run the stop sign at the intersection. MHPD Traffic Unit responded to the collision and are investigating the fatal collision.
