Effective immediately, the Rutgers University Police Department will discontinue the use of Nixle Alerts and utilize social media to keep the public informed of pertinent public safety information impacting Rutgers University in Camden, Newark and New Brunswick.
These notifications are intended to inform the public about adverse weather conditions affecting the university’s campus operating status, on- and off-campus crime alerts, emergency notification messages as well as other geographically sensitive information on critical incidents that impact the university community.
