...A WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN LATE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches by Saturday afternoon, with peak snowfall rates in excess of an inch per hour throughout the early morning hours on Saturday. Winds gusting as high as 30 mph.
* WHERE...Livingston, Macomb, Washtenaw, Lenawee, Monroe, Oakland and Wayne Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to noon EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Hazardous travel conditions likely through the morning. Drastic reductions to visibility expected under periods of heavy snow.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will begin Friday night and become heaviest during the 2 AM to 9 AM timeframe on Saturday. Increasing temperatures in the late morning will coincide with a changeover to sleet or a wintry mix before warmer air transitions precipitation to rain or drizzle by mid afternoon.
