January 19, 2020 Deputies with the Vigo Sheriffs Office were dispatched to intersection of St Rd 63 and Durkees Ferry Rd for a two vehicle crash. The initial investigation revealed that a red Chevrolet truck was west bound on Durkees Ferry and failed to slow to cross St Rd 63 and struck a southbound white Nissan pickup truck. The white Nissan flipped several times and the driver was ejected. The driver of the red truck, was not injured. The driver of the white Nissan was flown by Lifeline Helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No drugs or alcohol are suspected. A fatal crash reconstruction team was called to the scene to investigate. Names are not being released pending family notifications.
