A major injury traffic collision occurred on Sunday, January 19th at Bryant Street and Yucaipa Boulevard

LOCATION: Bryant St. / Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa
DRIVER: Brenda Billings, age 62 a resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): Amie Porch, age 45 a resident of Yucaipa
Richard Rodriguez, age 18 a resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY: On Sunday, January 19th, a deputy from the Yucaipa Police Department was on patrol in the area of Bryant Street and Yucaipa Boulevard when a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision occurred. The deputy immediately requested medical aid respond to the location. Through investigation, deputies determined Billings was driving south on Bryant approaching Yucaipa Blvd. Billings, who had a green light, waited for traffic to clear and initiated a left turn onto eastbound Yucaipa Blvd. She did not see two pedestrians who were crossing Yucaipa Blvd eastbound in the marked crosswalk.
Billings struck both pedestrians at an estimated speed of 15 MPH. Both pedestrians sustained moderate to major injuries and both were transported to a local area hospital treatment.
