Please be advised, on Thursday, January 23, 2020, from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Jekyll Island Authority will conduct a controlled burn on small patches of land located along Beachview Drive N., between the Jekyll Island Club Resort Beach Pavillion and Oceanview Beach Park.
Periodic road closures may occur during this time, at the cross sections of Captain Wylly Rd., Shell Rd., and Beachview Dr. N.
The burn does not pose any threat to nearby homes or structures.
All burn plans have been approved by Georgia Forestry and will be managed and monitored by the Jekyll Island Fire department and the JIA Conservation team.
