Full Notification

On January 23, 2020 at approximately 1:47 PM the Middle Township Police Department responded to Fresh Custom Upholstery, located at 1127 Route 47 South in the Rio Grande Section of the Township, for an out of control subject.  Upon arrival officers encountered the subject who was unclothed and causing damage inside the business.  Officers attempted to place the subject under arrest, however the subject resisted and it took several officers to place the subject in custody.  The subject, a seventeen-year-old male, was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment for minor injuries.  Three Middle Township officers were injured during the incident and were also treated at Cape Regional Medical Center.  The Lower Township Police Department, the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office and Cape May County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit assisted on scene.  Middle Township EMS and Lower Township EMS transported the injured parties.   Charges are pending against the juvenile.
