At 1:03 P.M.  On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, officers from the Burlington Township Police Department arrested Ryan P. Murphy (34- year old male from Bensalem, PA) for eleven counts of theft.

The arrest was the result of an investigation into package thefts in the Steeplechase neighborhood that began at approximately 12:01 P.M. when officers were notified that Murphy was stealing packages off doorsteps.  Officers located Murphy’s vehicle on Philly Street and initiated a motor vehicle stop.  A search of Murphy’s vehicle yielded several stolen packages from nearby residences.

Murphy was arrested, transported to the Burlington Township Police station for processing, and ultimately released on a summons.

While the department was able to return most of the packages to the rightful owners, we are still in possession of several unclaimed items.  Therefore, if any resident of the Steeplechase neighborhood or the surrounding area believes you were a victim of one of these thefts, please contact the BTPD as soon as possible at 609-386-2019.
